WORLD WEAVER designs, creates and markets, under the registered brand name UNIQUE®, entirely handwoven pure natural silk scarves. WORLD WEAVER uses an ancestral know-how in the weaving of its scarves reflecting the richness of the Tunisian intangible cultural heritage.
WORLD WEAVER’s mission is to perpetuate craft traditions relating to the art of hand weaving by arousing a fresh interest from youth people in this profession (in decline) and by providing rural women with the skills required to practice the profession of hand weaving which remains for the moment, in Tunisia, a mainly male profession.
WORLD WEAVER offers you a unique, authentic, ecological, quality and socially responsible fashion accessory. By purchasing our handmade product, you not only contribute to supporting the work of rural craftspeople who are passionate about their profession and proud of their ancestral know-how, but also to their emancipation by helping them to access to fair, decent and sustainable work.
We human beings are at our best not when we are engaged in abstract solitary reflection or on our individual transformation for its own sake but when we are engaged together in the act of transforming the world.
The act of idea-generation through creative thinking and the sustained engagement in the conversation of humankind, if conducted in the context of pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness, will lead to powerful moral action that will engender a New World. To engage in such moral action and to become a co-creator of a New World is to become a world-weaver in the act of weaving the world and a history-maker in the act of making history.

Tunisian craftsmanship: A heritage to preserve
Tunisia is a country rich in history that has affected its culture and craftsmanship. It houses one of the oldest and most significant civilizations of the world, the civilization of Carthage, founded more than 3000 years ago. The many civilizations that have passed through this country over the centuries, have left indelible marks on the local culture and craftsmanship. Tunisian artisans have inherited the traditions and craftsmanship techniques from the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans and French. From this heritage, they have been able to create artisanal objects that are both modern and traditional. Tunisian artisans are very skilled at blending the styles and craftsmanship techniques from the various civilizations to create unique and refined objects, products that bear the imprint of Tunisian history and culture.
